Midrash sobre Pirkei Avot 5:9
חַיָּה רָעָה בָאָה לָעוֹלָם עַל שְׁבוּעַת שָׁוְא, וְעַל חִלּוּל הַשֵּׁם. גָּלוּת בָּאָה לָעוֹלָם עַל עוֹבְדֵי עֲבוֹדָה זָרָה, וְעַל גִלּוּי עֲרָיוֹת, וְעַל שְׁפִיכוּת דָּמִים, וְעַל הַשְׁמָטַת הָאָרֶץ. בְּאַרְבָּעָה פְרָקִים הַדֶּבֶר מִתְרַבֶּה, בָּרְבִיעִית, וּבַשְּׁבִיעִית, וּבְמוֹצָאֵי שְׁבִיעִית, וּבְמוֹצָאֵי הֶחָג שֶׁבְּכָל שָׁנָה וְשָׁנָה. בָּרְבִיעִית, מִפְּנֵי מַעְשַׂר עָנִי שֶׁבַּשְּׁלִישִׁית. בַּשְּׁבִיעִית, מִפְּנֵי מַעְשַׂר עָנִי שֶׁבַּשִּׁשִּׁית. וּבְמוֹצָאֵי שְׁבִיעִית, מִפְּנֵי פֵרוֹת שְׁבִיעִית. וּבְמוֹצָאֵי הֶחָג שֶׁבְּכָל שָׁנָה וְשָׁנָה, מִפְּנֵי גֶזֶל מַתְּנוֹת עֲנִיִּים:
Feras selvagens vêm ao mundo por causa de juramentos vãos [desnecessários], profanação do Nome, [ie, transgredindo descaradamente em público ou sendo vistos por outros que imitam suas ações]. O exílio vem ao mundo por causa de idólatras, relações ilícitas, derramamento de sangue e (não) deixando a terra ociosa [isto é, lavrando e costurando no ano sabático]. Em quatro períodos, a pestilência aumenta: no quarto ano (de shemitah), e no sétimo ano, e no final do sétimo ano, e no final do festival (de Sucote) de cada ano. No quarto ano, devido à (omissão) do dízimo ruim do terceiro ano. [No lugar do segundo dízimo dos outros anos de shemitah, no terceiro e no sexto anos o dízimo é dado]. No sétimo ano, devido à (omissão) do dízimo pobre do sexto ano. No final do sétimo ano, por causa da (profanação) dos frutos do sétimo ano, e na conclusão da festa de cada ano, por causa do roubo dos presentes dos pobres: [leket, shikchah, peah, peret e oleloth].

TEN things were created (on the eve of the Sabbath) in the twilight (namely): the mouth of the earth; the mouth of the well; the mouth of the ass; the rainbow; the Manna; the Shamir; the shape of the alphabet; the writing and the tables (of the law); and the ram of Abraham. (Some sages say: the destroying spirits also, and the sepulchre of Moses, and the ram of Isaac; and other sages say: the tongs also.)
